
A Mount Vernon Public Library card is available to all who live, work, own real property, or attend school in Mount Vernon.
How To Obtain A Card
1.Patrons must show Photo ID and must reside in Mount Vernon, N.Y.
ADULTS -
Acceptable forms of proof of residence:
2. 7th grade through 12th grade students must show School ID and either a recent MTV School district's computerized printout report card or class schedule.
3. Exceptions: Employed or attending a private school within Mount Vernon and can provide documentation of working/attending schools.
4. Only one card per patron within Westchester Library System. All names will be checked for existing cards. Cards are valid for 3 years. Privilege will be renewed provided patron is still a Mount Vernon resident.
5. MTVPL cards are welcomed at all 38 libraries throughout Westchester County!
CHILDREN - Children must come to the library accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with proof of Mount Vernon or Bronx residency.
Children up to the sixth grade are issued library cards from the Children's Department. All others are issued Adult Cards. Your library card must be presented each time you check out materials.
