The Mount Vernon (NY) Public Library has an opening for a Library Clerk to work in our Computer Lab and at the Computer Center. Under the Supervision of the Collection Development and Electronic Resources Department, the part-time computer assistant will help patrons in the computer lab and at the computer center. Responsibilities include helping sign patrons on to the computers, print documents, provide help with computer resources, and will ensure the administration of library policies governing computer usage are followed. High School diploma or GED. Must be available to work nights and weekends if necessary. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows as well as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and internet explorer and other browsers is required. Will need some computer troubleshooting skills. Have familiarity with email and social media. Able to work with the public in a diverse, urban library setting. Able to work independently and be self-motivated. The job hours are Monday through Friday in the afternoons up to 17.5 hours per week. Salary is $16.14 per hour.
