Wireless in the Library!
The Mount Vernon Public Library offers its patrons with wireless-enabled devices free Internet access using the WiFi standard.
The Library provides unrestricted access and does not monitor or control content.
The Mount Vernonn Public Library is not responsible for your activity and strongly encourages you to respect copyright laws in your use of the Internet.
Our network is not encrypted and is inherently not secure. The Mount Vernon Public Library assumes no responsibility for damage, theft or loss of any kind to a user's equipment, software, data files or other personal property brought into or used at the library. Others, both inside and outside the library building, may be able to see information being transmitted to or from your device, or information on your device's storage media. Users of the wireless service are responsible for installing appropriate virus and other security protection on the wireless device.
Library staff are not authorized to configure your wireless device and do not provide access support.
No printing is available from the wireless device.
Wireless signal strength is limited in certain areas and is limited to only a few devices at a time. For best results use these devices in the Adult Reference room, the Main Adult Room and Children's Room. In time the library wireless capacity will grow.
Some library wireless devices may also be available at Cirulation desk for limited patron use.
